A chemical plant in Linyi, Shandong Province, was extending a corrosive liquid transfer line and needed a pump that could go straight into the pipework. Space around the line was tight, a conventional baseplate-mounted pump would have required a new foundation and a pipework redesign, and the fluid ruled out ordinary cast iron construction. YFTEL's answer was a pump that treats the pipeline itself as the mounting.
The Duty
The service was straightforward in hydraulic terms: a steady transfer of corrosive chemical liquid along an existing line, at moderate flow and head, on a continuous production schedule. The constraints were physical and chemical rather than hydraulic. The pump had to fit into the line where it stood, it had to hold the chemistry without corrosion leakage, and it had to be maintainable by the plant's own team without heavy lifting equipment.
The Solution
YFTEL supplied a 50GF-50 fluoroplastic-lined pipeline pump from its centrifugal pump range. The GF series is a vertical inline design: suction and discharge connections sit on the same axis, so the pump installs directly into the pipeline like a section of valved pipework, with no baseplate, no foundation work, and no long alignment procedure. All wetted parts are lined with fluoroplastic, giving the pump resistance to a wide range of acids, alkalis, and other corrosive chemicals while the outer structure carries the mechanical loads. The compact vertical layout occupies a fraction of the floor space of an end-suction installation, which mattered on a line that was already crowded with existing equipment.
Why an Inline Pump Fit This Project
For line-mounted booster and transfer duties on corrosive service, an inline pipeline pump removes most of the installation cost drivers: there is no concrete work, no coupling alignment on site, and suction and discharge pipework continue in a straight run through the pump. Maintenance is equally direct, since the rotating assembly can be accessed without disturbing the pipeline connections beyond the pump itself. Combined with the fluoroplastic wetted path, the design covers the two requirements this project actually had: hold the chemistry, and fit the line.
The Result
The pump was set into the line, connected, and commissioned without foundation work or pipework redesign, and it has run the transfer duty on the plant's normal schedule since. The corrosive service that would have consumed a cast iron unit is handled by the lined wetted path, with inspections folded into routine maintenance stops.
YFTEL supplies GF pipeline pumps for corrosive transfer and boosting duties where space and chemistry both constrain the installation. Send us your fluid and duty point, and our engineers will confirm the model.
